As the national authority on All Star, USASF strives to create a fair and safe environment for cheering and dancing clubs across America. We offer all types of members the opportunity to grow by participating in enrichment programs, leadership training and All Star events. LEARN MORE The USSF annually trains and certifies legality officials for All Star Cheer and Dance sanctioned competitions. The certification period is based on each USASF annual membership period. On-site certification for joy and dance is offered annually at the national meeting, where official legality candidates are invited to enroll in enriching and exciting classes in addition to attending legality training. Becoming a USASF legality officer requires training, practice, and dedication. Travel is often necessary and working hours are long and usually on weekends. But officiating is a rewarding way to stay actively involved with All Star, and it`s worth knowing that you`re helping athletes pursue their dreams. In addition, you can use the USASF membership system to indicate your interest and availability for the events they organize. Those responsible for the legality of the USASF come from all walks of life. Although it is not mandatory, most individuals have been cheerleaders or competitive dancers themselves and refereeing is a great way to get involved in the sport. We only require that legality officers be at least 18 years old and meet the highest moral and ethical standards. Just like a umpire in a basketball game or a referee in baseball, legality officials bring legitimacy and integrity to the sport by enforcing All Star rules. The authorization system is now user-friendly! The step-by-step system guides you through each step and asks you not to miss anything. *Cheer Legality Officials who have been fully certified for the 2021-2022 season are not required to recertify for the 2022-2023 season. Please check the status of your background check to ensure it is up to date for the new season by logging into your USASF profile. For USASF coaches, membership is governed by the Code of Conduct and Compliance and the stricter enforcement requirements and core programs at the heart of our standards. USASF coaches have direct access to Safe@AllStar abuse prevention training, JDP background checks, rules and progress videos, coaching certifications, enrichment programs, and more.

Disclosure: Payment for services is made exclusively between the producer of the event and the person responsible for legality. Many travel and meal expenses of the competition are usually covered by the producer of the event. Legality Officials are not paid for their services and do not travel through the USASF. The USASF and IASF hold only two competitions per year – The Cheerleading Worlds and The Dance Worlds™™. Event producers from major championships around the world sponsor their best teams to participate in these prestigious events.
