Building on the medical education and clinical experience of RNs and PAs, this course provides RNs and PAs with the foundational skills to advise law firms, health care providers, insurance companies and government agencies on medical matters and to act as expert witnesses in court. Legal Nurse Consultant training is also open to anyone interested in forensic testimony and medical legal issues, but participants without nursing training may not be able to take the certified legal consultant exam after graduation. The LNCC is a discretionary test for experienced nurses separate from the CLS by BARBRI training. LNCC test eligibility requirements will be discussed during this training. However, nurses taking this course are not required to take the CCLA to practise as a legal nurse consultant.
