We provide free and comprehensive civil legal assistance to overcome a variety of major social and legal barriers. For example, we help prevent homelessness, break free from family violence, provide access to health and income services, and overcome barriers to employment. By solving the legal problems of the most vulnerable people in our community, we help them achieve greater economic and family stability. Legal aid ensures access to the justice system for everyone, not just those who can afford it. Our mission is to solve the serious legal problems faced by low-income people, promote economic and family stability, and reduce poverty through effective legal aid. The Public Defense Attorney`s Office currently operates with a team of two Assistant Public Defense Attorneys, Attorney Rob C. Wiesenmayer, II, and James F. Hearn, Jr., an Office Manager/Paralegal, Mandy Crowell, a Legal Secretary, Paula Yahl, and a Receptionist Kaitlan Jones.
