Sometimes you need more than just legal help. Community organizations throughout the state of Wyoming offer a range of services to support you when things get tough. We work to build support networks to help you with all aspects of your legal problem. Legal Aid of Wyoming Inc. is a state-funded, not-for-profit law firm. We provide legal assistance to low-income people in the state of Wyoming. Legal aid can only provide services in cases where the civil action is brought in the Wyoming courts. Legal aid is many, but not all, types of civil cases. We cannot represent the accused in criminal matters. The Modest Medium Program (MPP) provides cost-effective legal aid to individuals who are not eligible for free legal services but cannot afford the expertise of lawyers at the regular rate. Lawyers participating in the program agree to support clients in the Modest Means program for a maximum of $75 per hour and no more than $500 (if required). The current level of funding for civil legal aid covers only a fraction of the needs. A study published by the Legal Services Corporation in 2017 found that 86% of legal needs reported by low-income Americans did not receive adequate legal assistance.
